Royal Wedding Invitation – In Keeping with Tradition

With a date and venue booked and only 100 days until the big day, many will be eagerly awaiting their invitation to the Royal Wedding of the decade. So what can we anticipate from the Royal couple to be? While the We Do Office would love to see some bold designs and colours much like the characters of Prince William and Kate we are hedging our bets on a much more traditional look and can only hope for a hint of majestic “prettiness”. Although nearly 30 years ago, in keeping with tradition, the invite of Prince Charles and Lady Diana with its plain black printed calligraphy on cream paper with the the 3 feathers crest may be a reflection of what to expect?

The average age to get married is 29 for the bride and 31 for the groom
The average length of an engagement is 18 months
August is the most popular month to get married and Saturday the most popular day of the week
93% of couples plan to live together, or are already doing so, prior to their wedding.
Although decisions are likely to be “shared” between couples 61% of brides choose their own engagement ring!

Getting Personal

We Do Invitations doesn’t much like the Royal Mail strikes – although don’t worry all of our orders are sent by courier so won’t be affected! – but does like Royal Mail’s Smilers® stamps.

As you already know We Do Invitations is all about personalisation so when we saw that Royal Mail lets you personalise your stamps it made us smile. What better way to send your invitations or thank you’s than with a personalised stamp!

You might not be able to give your invitation or thank you in person but it will certainly feel like it when your invite lands on the doorstep with you both on the envelope!
